I think it is possible to be friends with someone if I never meet them in person. I have a pen friend named YixuanQiuwho is from Taiwan. Iknew her in internet. We were both freshmen of college then and we have kept contact with each other by mail for 4 years. She is my best friend to talk about my happiness and worries even that I have never known her appearance.
Of courseI think this is real friendship as she accompanies me during the 4 green yeas and our friendship will be everlasting. I have severalother pen friends before, but wecouldn’t keep correspondence with each other for long. One reason is we have difference hobbies and values, but the main reason is that they have no persistence to write letters to a friend they can’t meet. They think a pen friend is not indispensible so they forget me when they are busy or they are not interested on me anymore. Fortunately, both Qiu and I are the kind of person who can stick to a relationship and not give up easily.
There is an old saying ‘Keep good men company and you shall be of the number’. That’s right. Friends influenceour mind, what kind of person our friends are indicates what kind of person we are. A true friend is the one who will listen to me when I’m sad, who makes me never feel alone.
