摘要：The present invention relates to a wound dressing comprising an absorbentcore with a top surface and a bottom surface containing a superabsorbent substance, afacing layer, and a backing layer, wherein the facing layer and the backing layer are joinedtogether by a seam forming a pouch, wherein the absorbent core is located in the pouch,wherein the facing layer is folded to cover the entire bottom surface of the absorbentcore and comprising two folded sections folded towards the top surface of the

absorbent core, wherein the folded sections of the facing layer and the backing layer arejoined together. When compared to theses dressings it is an object of the presentinvention to provide a wound dressing reliably avoiding leakage of SAP or any othersubstance being foreign to the body from the pouch, while simultaneously allowing todesign the layer to be brought into contact with the wound matching other

requirements. In order to solve this object the present applications suggests to furtherdevelop the above design such that the wound dressing further comprises a contactlayer to be brought into contact with a wound, wherein the contact layer is folded tocover an entire area of the facing layer covering the bottom surface of the absorbentcore and comprising two folded sections covering parts of the folded sections of the

facing layer, and wherein the two folded sections of the contact layer and the facing layeror the backing layer are joined together by a seam.
