摘要：The invention provides for methods of monitoring the proliferation of culturedprostate cancer cells in the presence of omega-3 fatty acids, methods of treating anindividual with prostate cancer or at risk of developing prostate cancer, and methods ofreducing the risk of recurrence of prostate cancer in an individual who had previouslybeen treated for prostate cancer. Methods of the invention further include treating anindividual with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with omega-3 fatty acids as well asmethods of screening for compounds that inhibit the proliferation of prostate cancercells. The invention provides for compositions and articles of manufacture containingomega-3 fatty acids in particular formulations, and omega-3 fatty acids with a secondcompound that also exerts an effect on the androgen receptor.
