It has been confirmed that a four-year-old boy has become the second person in Beijing to be infected with the H7N9 strain of bird flu, according to the city's Center for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday night.
A boy surnamed Zhu tested positive for the H7N9 bird flu virus during a screening conducted by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Chaoyang District on Sunday.
The boy has no clinical symptoms at present, and has been sent to Beijing Ditan Hospital for further medical observation.
The boy's father is engaged in poultry and fish trading. It is understood that neighbors of the boy's family who live across the street bought chicken from the boy's father.
